Standing orders pay a fixed amount to the same recipient on regular dates. Pay.UK says they are sent Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. If the date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, payment moves to the next working day.
The next working day does not guarantee an exact arrival time. Pay.UK says at least 90% of standing order payments are sent by 6am. Individual banks can also set lower transaction limits.
Nine in ten standing orders are sent by 6am. Arrival can come later.
