LINK lists an additional £2.75 for an eligible machine averaging fewer than 200 monthly cash withdrawals. The premium steps down as use rises and reaches zero above 4,500. A machine serving a small community can therefore receive more for each visit than one in a busy location.
LINK says it spends more than £1 million a month supporting free cash machines. It protects machines more than one kilometre from another free one and monitors access across 2,805 deprived areas. Interchange helps turn each withdrawal into part of the funding for that coverage.

Freddie's first half marathon backs Riza's route to university.
Freddie is running his first half marathon for the Dignity and Hope Foundation, Cambodia. His mother previously ran the London Marathon for the charity, and now he wants to help it support Riza, a New Hope School student who hopes to study information technology in Phnom Penh.
